Automotive OEM – A Print Management Solution that Saves Time, Money and the Environment
A major automotive Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) located in Detroit, MI, has been a valued CMS customer for over thirty years. The OEM, a $25 billion company with more than 180,000 employees and operations spanning six different continents, recently came to CMS looking for ways to enhance their print management program. Specifically, they were looking for ideas on how to reduce their carbon footprint and become more environmentally friendly, in addition to saving time and money on the paper purchased and used throughout their facilities.
Prior to coming to CMS for a solution, the OEM was utilizing a decentralized supply and management program that negatively impacted paper cost and delivery to their facilities. The company utilized a large amount of paper to print a wide array of documents that were essential to their business, and was very much in need of a more efficient and cost-effective inventory and delivery system.
After discussing the problem and presenting the OEM with solutions, CMS was able to design a centrally managed paper program to meet the company’s financial and environmental needs. The solution featured environmentally friendly paper obtained directly from paper mills due to pre-existing CMS business relationships, a benefit that added both time and monetary savings to the solution. CMS was also able to offer a centralized inventory program to prevent stockouts and increase delivery efficiencies throughout the company. These solutions, which took only about a month to put into place, yielded the following results:
